HTC Affirms that Several Members in Desire Family Will Update to Gingerbread

It seems that the HTC Android mobile phones are always on customs’ most concerned lists. One the Android Operating System has quick update, HTC often has quick responding. Now, as the Android OS has been updated to 2.3, HTC declared that four members of HTC Desire family, includes HTC Desire Z, Desire HD, HTC Desire and the new launched HTC Incredible S, will quickly get the latest Android 2.3 OS (Which is also called the “Gingerbread”).

HTC also said that it is now preparing for the update and this project will be achieved in the end of second season. Is it possible that four months are enough for HTC updates their mobile phone to Android 2.3? We are not sure and what we can do is just waiting for their “quick” OTA delivery. For the people who want to buy the latest HTC Android 2.3 phones, you can wait for 4 months and be the first to experience the joyful OS that latest Android 2.3 brings about.

As for the HTC older devices users, there comes better news. During the MWC last year, HTC announced that two HTC Desire phones (Desire HD and Desire Z, which were unveiled last September) will directly update to Gingerbread which means their update don’t need to go through the Froyo OS. The HTC Google Nexus One, which can be regarded as an essential handset of HTC’s own brand, will also be capable of running the Android 2.3 OS. The HTC Desire will join this update group, too. It is hard to believe the Desire will leap two Android updates (Desire ran on Android 2.1 when it was first released).

These old HTC Desire handsets will update to Gingerbread, not mention to the new released Incredible S and the intended Desire S and Wildfire S. Let’s just anticipate!

This new smartphone seems to have powerful functions and fast speed. We want to get one but we are not willing to buy a phone with bind network service. I think humans are really intelligent animals because Samsung Galaxy S 4G only launched for 3days and there comes good news for people who want to users who like to install many apps but they need root access. With a rooting tool, you can root this new T-Mobile 4G phone.

This rooting tool has been rooting a lot of Android devices successfully. Instructions have been provided as follows:

Preparation: Samsung Galaxy S USB Drivers and SuperOneClick V1.6.5 (not zip files and you need to exact this tool, at least the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, or later)

Step1. Debug your phone via USB from Menu > Setting > Applications > Development and check the box “USB debugging”.

Step2. Connect your handset to PC and launch the rooting tool.

Step3. Select “rage against the cage” under “Exploit”

Step4. Click “root” and allow the instructions until it finally roots your handset.

Then, this phone has been rooted in and you can install apps that require root access and you are able to flash custom ROMS and finish custom recovery.

But in my opinion, every attempt has risks and nobody can guarantee 100% security of this rooting. Even if someone has already have confirmation of achieving root access successfully, it still have risks.
